Facets…. Is a dodecahedron box, veneered inside and out.
It employs:
Integral wood hinges
Hand dyed marquetry
Gold leaf accents.
The dodecahedron is veneered inside with spalted Western Maple and outside with Western Maple and Bubinga.
The base is sculpted from an assembly of Garry Oak components and the carvings are highlighted with gold leaf.
The leaf was cut in double bevel style and is hand dyed in “watercolor dye technique” with aniline dyes and an artist’s brush.
Facets is about 28”high.
