The Rose Jewelry Box ……… is a veneered box with marquetry on the front , both ends and even on the bottom. All the marquetry is hand dyed in “watercolor” technique before assembly.
The lid and feature panels are Carpathian Elm burl and the top is formed over a complex sculpted surface. The trim woods used are Purpleheart, Wenge, Arbutus and Holly.
The hinge is a modification of my integral wooden style, made from Holly and Purpleheart.
The field veneer on the inside lid is figured Western Maple and the inside is veneered in Walnut.
The lift out trays are from Arbutus (Madrone) and have turned Purpleheart handles.
